If you are visiting Bucharest right now you are among the luckiest tourists. Why is that? Because as the weather gets hotter, the events start taking place and there is no way you`ll get bored this time of the year. And if you aren`t in Bucharest right now, really consider planning a trip during summer so you`ll get the best of the city.
But let`s think short term. What are your plans for this weekend? There are plenty of things to do besides checking The Palace of Parliament off your list.
Firstly, if you are a foodie and you especially like Burgers, you should know that starting on Friday until Sunday (13th-15th of May), at Verde Stop takes place BurgerFest 2016. You`ll get to try over 50 burger recipies while being accompanied by some of the best Romanian bands at the moment. Check their facebook event for detailed info on the concert`s timeline and remember that you have to buy a ticket to get in that costs 15 lei for a day(you can also get a pass for the whole festival for 39 lei)
Now let`s say you are into art. You should know that Bucharest is home to one of the largest exibitions in Romania called Art Safari. It has begun on the 5th but you can still catch it till the 15th. A ticket costs 50 lei and the venue is right in the heart of the old town in the Dacia Palace. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Romanian art and this is a child friendly exhibition as it has workshops explaining painting and other arts to the little ones. Here`s their website if you want to find out more.
Another festival is meant for your more energic self and it`s called Skirtbike. It takes place in Tineretului Park on Sunday and there is no entrance fee( yaay). Why go to skirtbike? Because they have an evening picnic, live music and chic women parading on their bikes. If you like to pedale you are welcomed to join them! The atmosphere will make you forget about all your worries and you`ll be immersed in another world. Check their facebook event for more info.
Oh, and if you want to party, you can try a silent party on Friday. Here`s their event. All we`re saying is that you are going to have headphones on and be outside in a garden, and from there just let the music guide you.
